Kepler-Binär mit Peters–Mathews-GW-Zerfall: Ṗ, Verschmelzungszeit und animierte Bahn.

About this tool

Model a circular neutron-star binary losing energy to gravitational waves via the Peters–Mathews formula:

da/dt = −(64/5) G³ μ M² /(c⁵ a³)

From Kepler’s law, Ṗ/P = (3/2) ȧ/a. Coalescence time from the current separation is

t_c = (5/256) c⁵ a⁴ /(G³ μ M²)

Presets include Hulse–Taylor–like parameters. The WebGL view shows the shrinking orbit (time-accelerated). Press Run to animate. Eccentricity and spin are neglected.
