Stay end date comparison

Enter the entry date, the documented last day of this stay and a reference date. Use the end date established by the documents that apply to you. Entry and the last stay date start empty; the initial reference date is today. All dates must be valid calendar dates from 1900 to 2100, and the end cannot precede entry.

Both boundary dates count as whole calendar days. Remaining days run from the later of entry and the reference date through the entered end, including both. Before entry, the full entered stay remains; waiting days are shown separately. On the last day, one day remains. After the end, zero days remain and the calendar-day distance after that end is shown separately. A stay that begins and ends on the same date has one day. This is date arithmetic, not a countdown in 24-hour blocks; time zones and daylight-saving changes do not affect it.

This calculator does not determine visa validity, permission to stay or legal overstay. A visa expiration date and an admitted-until date can differ (US Department of State). A visa sticker also distinguishes its validity window from its duration of stay (European Commission, Visa Code Handbook I, page 106). An undated permission such as D/S cannot be entered as a last day. No automatic extension applies here: edit the end only when a changed end date has already been established. The tool does not apply country rules or combine multiple stays.

Editing removes the result; compare again explicitly. Small drafts use the existing cookie storage. A draft that cannot be encoded or exceeds 1,500 encoded characters remains available only until reload, with a visible notice.
