Geo Coordinates Converter
Convert WGS-84 latitude/longitude, UTM and MGRS with explicit grid resolution.
About this tool
Choose an input format and Convert. Latitude/longitude accept signed decimal degrees, with a decimal point or comma. Latitude must be −80…84° and longitude −180…180°. UTM requires zone and hemisphere followed by easting and northing in metres, for example 18N 583959 4507351. N/S here mean hemisphere, not a latitude band. MGRS accepts spaced or compact references such as 18TWL8395907350. Edit inputs to clear old results; each format keeps its own saved draft. Copy buttons copy reusable protocol text with decimal points.
WGS-84 UTM uses the bundled Krüger n-series with Norway/Svalbard zone exceptions for geographic input. UTM/MGRS input preserves its zone. The MGRS cell-size selection truncates projected coordinates, never rounds them. MGRS describes an area, not an exact point: this tool decodes its southwest corner. A cell can straddle a latitude-band boundary, so its corner may lie outside the indicated band or nominal UTM latitude extent. MGRS input keeps its original resolution; no invented finer resolution. Geographic coordinates shown for it are representative, not additional measured accuracy. Finite precision prevents perfectly reversible geographic conversion.
Geographic input uses six decimal places in results, DMS two decimal seconds, and UTM two decimal metres. These are display formats, not accuracy guarantees. DMS rounding carries into minutes/degrees. Data stay in the browser. No map, elevations, datum changes or polar UPS grids.
