Audio editor

Edit local mono or stereo audio. File tools create an empty clip, load audio into the current document, prepare a one-second stereo example, or save WAV. Tabs and the clipboard remain available during this session.

In Select, drag across the waveform or enter start and end in milliseconds and press Select. Both boundaries round to the nearest sample; the end sample is excluded. The status shows the actual sample indices and times. Unapplied or invalid selection text blocks range edits. Cancelling a pointer gesture preserves the previous selection. Outside Select, dragging zooms; Ctrl/Meta plus the wheel zooms around the pointer. The ordinary wheel scrolls the page.

Cut, copy, delete, trim, reverse and silence use the selection. Paste replaces the selection, or inserts at the end of the visible range when none is selected. Clipboard and document must have the same sample rate and channel count. Cutting everything leaves a genuinely empty clip; matching audio can still be pasted into it.

Fades use the chosen duration, rounded to samples and limited to the selection. Two or more fade samples include both gain endpoints 0 and 1; one fade sample becomes zero, and zero fade samples make no change. Normalize applies one gain to the entire clip, based on the largest sample magnitude across all channels. It preserves channel balance and is not loudness or true-peak normalization. Undo restores audio, selection, view and the modified flag; history is limited to 24 steps and 128 MiB per document.

Supported WAV imports are PCM 8/16/24/32-bit and IEEE float32, mono or stereo, at 8–192 kHz. Their sample rate is preserved. Other recognized WAV formats are rejected. Non-WAV files use the browser decoder at 48 kHz; supported codecs depend on the browser, and the decoded rate is shown. Limits are 64 MiB per file and 32 million decoded sample values across channels. Processing stays in the browser. Files are not saved across page reloads. Changing the language in Settings reloads the page; download edited clips first.

Export writes PCM16 WAV at the document rate. Values outside −1…1 are clipped; an empty clip produces a valid empty WAV. Playback stops before audio edits or document changes. Download a clip before closing or replacing it.

New clips start empty. Pasting into a pristine new clip adopts the clipboard’s sample rate and channels; existing clips retain their format. Modified clips ask before closing or replacement. WAV export rounds to the nearest signed PCM16 word, preserving unchanged PCM16 samples, and preserves dots in a chosen filename. Playback contexts close on Stop, completion, edits and navigation. Loading can be cancelled; late native results are discarded.
