World Flat Map
Explore countries, map projections and sourced geographic statistics.
About this tool
Select a country from the list or click the map. The selected country is outlined. Choose Robinson, equirectangular or Mercator to compare projection distortions. This overview has no pan/zoom; normal wheel scrolling moves the page. Additional geographic layers can be expanded.
Population, density, growth, urban population, life expectancy, fertility and infant mortality use the bundled World Bank WDI observations for 2023 (CC BY 4.0). Missing countries/values remain blank or grey. Density is the published land-area indicator, not calculated from this map. GDP and GDP per capita also use published WDI observations for 2023, in current US dollars, not purchasing-power-adjusted values. Mapped area is only an approximation from simplified polygons, not official land area.
Colour scales clip the bottom/top 2 percent of values; logarithmic scale uses only positive values and may fall back to linear if too few exist. Legends show the effective scale. Natural Earth geometry is generalised and uses de facto borders; this is not a navigation or legal boundary map. Forest/desert/urban regions are approximate; transport routes are schematic, not live. Map and statistics are bundled; no coordinates are sent to an external calculation service.
