Word finder

Find English words from letters and blanks with length limits, clear grouping and complete exports.

About this tool

Find English words made from some or all of 2–12 tiles. Each letter can be used only as often as it appears in the input. Every ? supplies one arbitrary letter; no extra switch is needed. Spaces and case are ignored, while digits, accents and other characters are rejected.

Minimum and maximum are whole word lengths. The default minimum is two; an empty maximum automatically uses the number of tiles. An explicit maximum cannot exceed that number. No silent length rounding or clamping occurs. For example, aab can supply aa, ab, aba or baa when present in the dictionary, but not bb or aaaa. A blank can supply the missing letter in cat from ca?.

By length puts longer words first and sorts each group alphabetically. Alphabetical orders the entire result list. Show more adds 100 words. Copy and TXT include every matching word in the selected order, one per line, including words not yet displayed. There is no hidden result limit. This is a word-list search, not a board-move solver; it does not calculate Scrabble scores or placement legality.

The general English dictionary includes uncommon/historical entries, names and abbreviations. It is not an official game dictionary and does not guarantee acceptance in a particular game. Other interface languages do not change the English vocabulary.

The dictionary is loaded only on demand. Large searches yield to input and navigation and report progress. Editing letters or lengths clears old output; obsolete requests cannot publish results. Failed loads can retry and a failed copy leaves TXT available. Input drafts remain in memory across tool navigation; reloading restores retina, minimum two and automatic maximum. Searches run in the browser without uploading the input.
