Reynolds Pipe

Reynolds number for a pipe and Darcy-Weisbach pressure drop.

About this tool

Reynolds number for a pipe and Darcy-Weisbach pressure drop.

Method

  • Re = ρ v D / μ. Re < 2300 laminar, > 4000 turbulent.
  • Laminar: f = 64 / Re.
  • Turbulent: full Colebrook iteration on the implicit equation, seeded by Swamee-Jain.
  • ΔP = f · (L / D) · ½ ρ v².

Includes fluid presets (water, air, glycerin, SAE10) and reports head loss in metres of fluid.
