Planets Table

Relative sizes by equatorial radius (km). Distances and orbits are not shown.

About this tool

Select a group, switch between orbit and properties, and sort by clicking a column heading. The optional size comparison shows the eight planets to the same diameter scale; colours are illustrative.

Semimajor axis describes orbital size, not the current distance. The Moon orbits Earth; the other listed objects orbit the Sun. AU = 149,597,870.7 km. Periods are sidereal orbital periods in Julian years (a = 365.25 days), not lunar phases. Mass is relative to Earth (M⊕ = 1). The mean radius is the radius of a sphere with the same volume.

Temperatures are approximate global means: surface values for rocky bodies, values at 1 bar for giant planets. They are not local minimum or maximum temperatures. A dash means that no comparable temperature is included. This table includes three selected dwarf planets, not the full list.

Moon counts refer to confirmed natural satellites as of August 2026 and may change. Values are rounded comparisons, not predictions of current positions.
