About this tool
Choose an image, drop it, or paste it. The file stays on your device. Load controls stay available in every view. Copy preview copies the analyzed image, with a longest side of at most 600 pixels.
In the Image view, point, tap, or enter X/Y to inspect an original decoded pixel. Coordinates start at zero in the top-left corner. Arrow keys on the preview move one pixel; Shift moves ten and Home selects (0, 0). The magnifier outlines the selected pixel. RGBA and eight-digit HEX include alpha.
RGB includes an alpha channel when transparency is present. HSV hue uses degrees; saturation and value use percent in the pixel readout. Gray has no defined hue: the pixel readout shows —, its hue image stays gray, and the hue histogram includes only chromatic pixels. YCbCr follows full-range JFIF rounding and clipping, with neutral Cb/Cr at 128. These are converted values from the browser’s decoded RGB, not the original compressed components.
Channel histograms and scopes analyze the preview, reduced to a longest side of 600 pixels when necessary. Percentages are fractions of analyzed pixels, not fractions of the tallest bar. Fully transparent pixels are excluded from color histograms and scopes; the alpha histogram includes every pixel. Partly transparent colors count once. The luma histogram and waveform use BT.709 weights on decoded RGB; this is luma, not linear-light luminance. Vectorscope targets use the same JFIF Cb/Cr conversion as its points.
Headers show bounded structural entries for PNG/JPEG/WebP and top-level ISO BMFF boxes; GIF shows only the header and logical screen descriptor. At most 512 entries are listed. This is not a complete format, CRC or metadata validator. Use the EXIF tool for camera metadata.
Limits: 50 MiB per file and 40 million decoded pixels. Browser-supported formats only; animated files show one decoded frame. Browser color management, orientation and 8-bit canvas conversion affect displayed pixels. Encoded dimensions are shown separately when orientation changes them. Pixel-count checks cannot guarantee the browser decoder’s memory use. Files are not retained after leaving the tool.
