Convert pace, solve distance and time, and estimate activity energy.
About this tool
Pace
Choose min/km, min/mi, km/h or mph. Pace accepts m:ss; speed accepts a decimal point or comma. 1 mile = 1.609344 km. Conversions assume constant average speed; displayed pace is rounded to whole seconds. Changing the input unit changes how the entered number is interpreted.
Distance and time
Choose what to calculate and enter the other two quantities. Time accepts mm:ss, h:mm:ss or plain minutes (25 or 25.5). Pace is m:ss per kilometre. Distances are kilometres. Hidden fields are not used. This is arithmetic at constant average pace, not a performance prediction.
Energy
Choose the activity, body weight in kg and duration in minutes. Total energy = MET × kg × minutes / 60, including resting energy. Above resting energy = (MET − 1) × kg × minutes / 60, using the standard 1-MET rest convention, not your measured resting metabolism. Zero duration gives zero energy.
The 17 presets use unchanged MET values and distinct activity codes from the 2024 Adult Compendium for ages 19–59. Speed labels are approximate km/h conversions of its mph categories, not interpolated METs. Compare activities optionally; each activity link leads to its source category, with the code in the tooltip. Other ages, terrain, pauses, technique and individual metabolism can give different results. These are reference estimates, not personalised measurements or dietary targets.
Inputs and selected tab are saved in this browser. Reset restores the current calculator’s example. Editing removes the previous result. All calculations run locally. Source: 2024 Compendium of Physical Activities, including its standard 1 MET = 1 kcal/kg/hour convention.
