Economy Indicators
Compare country GDP, income, inequality, unemployment, inflation and trade in a historical snapshot.
About this tool
Compare the bundled historical country indicators. The chart shows the largest available values for the selected metric, in descending order. “All” includes every country with a value. The searchable, sortable table always contains the full snapshot; its search and sorting do not change the chart.
GDP, exports and imports are shown in billions of current US dollars; GDP per capita in current US dollars. These are not PPP measures. HDI is an index on a 0–1 scale, Gini on a 0–100 scale, unemployment and inflation in percent. Missing values appear as a dash and are omitted from the chart; zero remains a valid value.
GDP, GDP per capita, unemployment, inflation, exports and imports use World Development Indicators for 2023. HDI uses the UNDP Human Development Report 2023/24 value for 2022. Gini uses the latest available World Bank observation for each country from 2015–2023, so it is not a same-year ranking. The open data links and definitions appear in the source table.
Example from this snapshot: Germany has GDP of 4,562 billion USD and an HDI of 0.942. The chart ranks one measure at a time, not overall economic quality. This is a static historical snapshot, not live data; no currency conversion or debt series is included.
