Bone names

Major bones and bone groups: local and Latin names, region and landmarks.

About this tool

Selection of major adult bones and bone groups, not a full skeletal inventory. Search by local, Latin or English name, region or landmark. Search and body region apply together; Clear filters resets both. Column headings toggle ascending/descending order. On narrow screens the table scrolls horizontally. Paired means left and right; ribs have 12 pairs. Series groups multiple vertebrae. Thumb/little-finger landmarks assume anatomical position. The hip bone is grouped with the leg, the sacrum with the spine. Small hand/foot bones and auditory ossicles are not fully included. Typical adult anatomy; variations and incomplete fusion are possible.
