Atelier de translittération
Cyrillique, grec, hébreu et arabe vers le latin (et retour) selon des schémas ISO et BGN/PCGN — conversion d’écriture, pas de traduction.
About this tool
Convert letters from one writing system into Latin letters (or the reverse) according to a published scheme. This is transliteration, not translation: Москва becomes Moskva (ISO 9) or Moskva/Moskva variants under BGN — the words stay Russian.
Schemes. Cyrillic ISO 9 (one letter ↔ one Latin letter with diacritics), Cyrillic BGN/PCGN (English-friendly digraphs: zh, kh, shch), Greek ISO 843, Hebrew ISO 259 (consonants; vowels usually omitted in Hebrew text), Arabic ISO 233-ish scientific (with ḥ, ṣ, ḍ). Diacritics on Arabic input are optional.
Reverse. Latin → script uses longest-match on digraphs (shch before sh). Ambiguous round-trips (BGN ё/е both → e) cannot be perfect — ISO 9 round-trips better because it is nearly bijective.
Limits. No morphological analysis, no word-final Greek sigma special cases beyond ς, no Persian/Urdu extras, no automatic language detection.
